Fear God and Keep His Commandments: The Wisdom of Solomon

It is a strange twist of divine Providence that Solomon, who asked for wisdom and is characterized as the wisest person in all the world and its history, failed to walk wisely. It is odd to the student of Scripture that he could contribute so much to God’s Word, yet be known for failure in character. What’s more, the whole life of Solomon leaves the reader in confusion as to whether he was genuinely converted and trusted in Yahweh for salvation.
